Stars, Stripes & Heroes Patriotic Craft
Stars , Stripes & Heroes
My family is a very patriotic group! We have many
family members and friends who have served our nation in the military.
We proudly display photographs, ribbons and medals where we can see them
on a daily basis and be reminded of the sacrifice men and women make
for our freedoms. This collection of photographs are just a few of my American Heroes that I am proud of. (Top Clockwise pictured are: Robert H. Causey, Jr aka Granddaddy: He was a Sergeant in the Army during WWII.He lost his right arm at Anzio Beach, Italy when he was 22 years old. My son is named after him; William D Martin aka Granddaddy Martin: He was in the 25th Infantry Division in the Korean War. My son is also named after him; Michael D. Collins aka Big Mike: He was an Army Ranger in the 1st Air Cal Division in Vietnam; Robert P. Causey aka Unka Bo: He was an MP stationed at Fort Gordon during the Vietnam War. My son is also named after him.)
This is an easy craft that you can do for your home. I used letter size craft paper, paint, twine and clothespins to create this festive look.
Using a sharp blade I cut a 5x7 opening in the craft
paper, turning it into a homemade photo mat. Dress up your ‘frames’
with some paint.
I scanned and printed 5 x 7 photos of my ‘American
Heroes’. Using jumbo sized blue
pushpins I created my photo line with twine. I also painted my
clothespins . After all the paint dries adhere your photos to the craft
paper frames and hang!
