I participated in the Hwy 46 13th annual yard sale on friday. (well im writing this rough draft right now from the yard sale. its about 9:00 a.m.) This yard sale starts in Heflin, Alabama off of the I-20 exit (199) and wraps around through Ranburne, Alabama to the Georgia State line (20 miles total). So far I have made only one sale and I bought something from the girl next to me....so I have $1 as of right now. I have been up here since 6:30. A lot of lookers but no takers. And I am getting positive feedback even though no one is buying.<br /> <br /> I want to tell some of my people watching stories to help me pass the time..... So far I have seen 503 people smoking cigarettes while shopping/selling (so classy). And I have seen 97 shoe less children (of walking age), 3 people drinking beer, and 500,000 alabama/auburn t-shirts. Its 11:30 and traffic is starting to slow down. I think im going to start packing up since Mr. B wasn't feeling too good this morning. Ill probably go pick him up early from school so he doesnt have to play outside in the heat.<br /> <br /> Well that is the extent of my yard sale experience. I ended up making about $80. I had planned on going Saturday as well....but I was up sick all night/morning with whatever Mr. B had. <br /> <br /> this evening we are going to the north georgia state fair. hopefully i have plenty to blog/rant about tomorrow! i hope you all have a wonderful wednesday!<br /> <br /> <br /> the end.

does anyone own a dictionary anymore??

quick rant...<br /> <br /> i understand that at times there are going to be typos in ever the most excellent of english teacher's writings....however i hate it when people repeatedly misspell the same words over and over and over. they need.... like a list of commonly misspelled words or something because they obviously do not own a dictionary.<br /> <br /> here are some of my favorites:<br /> <br /> ~of coarse (i HATE this...it's spelled course you <a href="http://www.phawker.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/dumbass.jpg">dumbass</a>)<br /> ~to, too, and two are three different words with three different meanings. find out what those meanings are and use the words accordingly.<br /> ~there, their and they're are also three different words.....learn the defs and then use them correctly.<br /> ~loose, lose - <a href="http://robinrile.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/loose-lips-sink-ships-posters.jpg">loose</a> is the opposite of <a href="http://www.layoutlocator.com/graphics/dldimg/a1eb1986decc886a9a6bf9ce1adbaaea_man-likes-tight-jeans.jpg">tight,</a> lose is the opposite of win....get it right.<br /> ~no, know - no is the opposite of yes, know refers to something you've learned. (or in this case haven't learned)<br /> ~weather, whether - weather is what the meteorologist always predicts wrong, whether is used when making a choice.<br /> <br /> <br /> there are too many more to list but you get what im trying to say here.<br /> <br /> i am not the best in writing the english language but there was a reason i was <a href="http://www.tshirtinsight.com/cache/feeds.yourstorewizards.com_3113_images_200x200_peanuts010.jpg">spelling bee champ</a> in the third grade. so in conclusion........get a freaking dictionary and look up the definition of a word. if that definition does not properly describe what you are talking about the guess what??? its not the correct word! <br /> <br /> go back to third grade and learn how to spell "of course"!<br /> <br /> the end.

(i am an amateur ornithologist....among other things)<br /><br /><br /><br /><strong>yes.....</strong> the birds as in ♪ <em>feed the birds tuppence a bag</em> ♪.<br /><br /><br /><br /><strong>and</strong> the birds as in the hitchcock horror flick.<br /><br /><br /><br /><strong>also</strong> the <strong>birds</strong> as in <strong>♪</strong> <em>black bird singing in the dead of night</em> <strong>♪<em> </em><u>and</u></strong> ♪ <em>three little birds pitch by my doorstep singing sweet songs of melodies pure and true</em> ♪<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />so we feed the birds here at the house. every morning if they have not gotten their morning supply of feed they start chirping like crazy and try to peck our eyes out! i love how when you go to a store and the cashier gives you advice about everything you buy.<br /> i mean.....<strong>really</strong> do i look like i need your advice?<br /> <br /> <br /> ok maybe that's a little <strong>mean</strong>....im sure these <u>random</u> people are just trying to be nice and make conversation. im sure they get a little bored at times. so i should be more than happy to obliged them.<br /> <br /> <br /> there is a girl that works at the target store i frequent. (she reminds me of the target girl that is spoofed on <a href="http://www.hulu.com/watch/72441/saturday-night-live-target">saturday night live's target skit</a> ) my real life best friend (<strong><em>betty white</em>**)</strong> says this target girl is my best friend because i will carry on conversations with her while she is critiquing my merchandise. she is the overly friendly and helpful type. the type that is a major over achiever, and 110% target's employee of the century. you can tell target is her life.....totally nothing wrong with that. whatever floats your boats i guess. but on this particular day (just a few short hours ago) betty white and i were shopping the dollar aisle (tha best btw) and we decided to buy some wildflower seed packs since tomorrow is earth day. so as betty white and i get into the line that my target best friend is working (we always get in her line so we can have hours of fun filled conversation about her and just recently introduced betty white's husband to the awesomeness that is target's employee of the century) betty white looks at me and says should i get both of these packs of flowers (one is hummingbird and butterfly flower seeds the other is fragrant flower seeds) then my target best friend pipes up and says "If you get the hummingbird ones you will only have one hummingbird because they are so aggressive and territorial but if you get the other pack you will have a lot of birds."<br /> <br /> <br /> if you are going to give someone advise about a product please know what you are talking about. i love how she eavesdropped on our conversation and decided to give us her words of wisdom....its the reason we always go out of our way to find her when it's check out time. so betty white decided to get the more fragrant wildflower assortment of seeds while i stuck with my hummingbird and butterfly assortment of seeds.<br /> <br /> <br /> so then we decide we need to goto the ever entertaining walmart. so we head over there to get betty white some annual flowers.....wonder around deciding on what's the best price (in a past life we were probably siamese twin jews.....not that there is anything at all wrong with being jewish or a siamese twin) so we got some petunias and snapdragons because they need 8 hours of sunlight per day. as we are leaving the store the door greeter tells us "oh those are such beautiful flowers. make sure you give them plenty of sunlight and they wont die." really lady?? thats the reason we bought them and although we are in alabama <u>AND</u> in walmart that doesnt mean we can't read. neither betty white or myself are from <strong>the great</strong> <strong>state</strong> of alabama that we both now inhabit. hi there. im amanda and this is my first blog entry. i have a lot of things on my mind and i have a lot of conversations with myself so i thought....why not blog them so you dont seem like a <strong>crazy person</strong> talking to yourself.?? <u>so here i am.</u><br /> <br /> i have one son, mr. b, who is turning six in a couple of months. he is my life and there is nothing that will ever change that. i sacrifice everything to make him happy. since he will be the only child i will give birth to i guess i need to make sure i dont mess this up. most of my blogging with probably involve him in one way or another, however i do have <strong>vast quantities of knowledge</strong> i will be sharing that has nothing to do with parenting or motherhood.<br /> <br /> my grandmother was a very talented artist/crafter and i have inherited her talents. (well i think im talented but others may not) i enjoy making and creating new things. some people that know me call me martha stewart.<br /> <br /> im also an environmentalist so i try to live as green as i possibly can. living green is expensive and since im not a wealthy person i do my part however little it may or may not be. i also bring my craftiness into my recycling and earth saving endeavors. i will eventually be on one of those oprah pack rat episodes. i refuse to throw things away that i <strong>think</strong> will be a future component of a brilliant craft project. so because of that i have boxes and boxes of random junk....egg cartons, ribbon spools, broken glasses, galvanized mini buckets from the restaurant i serve at.....etc etc<br /> <br /> i also like photography. i have recently started trying to dip my toes in the <strong>photography pool. </strong>people i show my work to tell me that it is awesome but they also know me and would lie to me instead of hurt my feelings. but i enjoy doing it so even if i really do suck, i will continue to strive for excellence.<br /> <br /> like i said before my son is my life and my top priority....motherhood calls so i will continue another time. he wants a story before bed. after all "a boy's best friend is his mother" ~norman bates, psycho<br /> <br /> <strong>p.s.</strong> i only capitolize things when they are <em><u><strong>super</strong></u></em> significant.
